Mission
To lead in the formulation, implementation, and coordination of social welfare and development policies and programs for and with the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged.
Program for Persons with Disability (PWDs)
The Comprehensive Program for Persons with Disabilities aims to promote services to all types of PWDs 0-59 years of age and are members of the Self-Help Groups of PWDs. The program focuses on areas of disability prevention, rehabilitation and equalization of opportunities. Moreover, it is intended to enhance PWDs capacity to attain a more meaningful, productive and satisfying way of life and ultimately become self-reliant, productive and contributing members of society.
Vision
The Department of Social Welfare and Development envisions all Filipinos free from hunger and poverty, have equal access to opportunities, enabled by a fair, just, and peaceful society.
